Thor Likes the Bathtub!

When Little Hooman gave him the first bath she said he did great.  She gave him a sink bath and he hung around in the bathroom while Princess had her royal scrubbing. She said he was fascinated. He likes to be where we are all the time so in the bath with me he came! Don't worry there's no NSFW content, just toes and kitty. He almost slipped in a couple times, that was hilarious.

He's so active now! The jingly balls have no chance, neither do toes or fingers. He has this awesome little trill/meow that he uses when he's in full swing. He's just an adorable fat ball of black poof.

I can't believe your Little Hooman was able to bathe him without picking up battle scars! We tried to bathe our first FurBoss, Angel. Once. Do you know cats have extensible legs, just like in the cartoons?  We got more water on the floor and walls than on her---and gladly paid a groomer's fee at a pet clinic for THEM to wash her.  Our current beasts like to keep us company in the bathroom, and Trixie (Junior Cat) will walk on the tub edge, but won't jump in (thank goodness).

Is he going to grow into those paws? In our old house, I had one of those glass enclosed showers. L & L would sit on the tub ledge and watch me. Now, they they will do goofy things like peek over the top of the shower curtain rail or jump on the ledge and watch. I've occasionally bathed them and they don't like it but don't fight too much. As soon as I have the $$, I'll be taking them to the pros.

Oddly enough, all three are good in the tub. We've only had one that was a terror, a little sweet tuxedo kitty years ago. The old cats tolerate it & he seems to be OK with water in general.

Be still my beating heart. He's definitely gotten cuter! :kitty:

And I love when cats talk to us. I don't doubt for a second that they can understand Human-speak more than we give them credit for. I recently read an article about a study that someone (sorry, can't remember who conducted it) did about dogs understanding our words, too.

My duo know when I'm talking to them. I think they understand a lot too...however, cats being cats, their usual response is "yeah, yeah, whatever" and keep doing whatever it is they are doing. They only "obey" when they feel like it.

He was hanging out on my shoulder a little while ago & I whispered, "I love you" to him.... He immediately turned & rubbed his face under my chin & began to purr. They understand. Of that, I have no doubt.

Oh...my two understand that too! Leia will come behind me and head-butt me. I'll reach back to give her a scratch and tell her "I love you too baby girl" and she will nuzzle my hand. Luke is a little less subtle. I'll give him a skritch after he whines in my face, tell him "I love you handsome boy" and he will end up all in my face meowing and grabbing at my hand for more skritches. They know when I tell them I love them, they know when I say no, they occasionally come when called.

Then there's Leia's daily report of how awful Luke was while we were gone...and Luke's daily whine of how he got his butt kicked.

I'm making those sounds that some women produce upon seeing extreme cuteness.  Sadly, this has awakened the furry guardian from her nap on my abdomen.

Awwww.

Reminds me of some of the pictures my sister took of Marvel the Kitty when he first came into their lives.  I remember the first time I went down after they brought the Marvelman home, he was such a little ball of fur and energy.  I took a tail down for Marvel and it made my day seeing him running and jumping after that tail.

Oh...Mr. Xtian has been asking for Thor pics...he asks me how Thor is every day. He swears up and down he's not a cat person, but I think he's full of it. Especially when he's snuggling his "girlfriend" Leia.

I drop hints sometimes to my sister that I wanna see pictures of the Marvelman and his big sister Maggie.

My Headship likes to jump in the shower with me. It's all well and good 'til his face gets wet. Bathing him is a breeze, but loses his mind when I try to dry him with a towel.

I really think it depends where you live as to what attitudes people have towards kids. I always felt really insecure about having my kids in public in Southern Ontario (where mega families were common) because people were unbelievably judgy about how they behaved and my parenting in general.

Then we moved to downtown Montreal, where having more than 1 kid was considered a big family, and everyone is just so kind and supportive and encouraging. No one batted an eye at them. I swear that’s why we moved here.

I feel like they're just regular old Fall family portraits...it's that time of year! All my clients are getting on the books for their Christmas card photos now too. At first I thought maybe an announcement based on the bear with pink ribbon, but I actually think it's more possible that is just to honor the loss they had. I can't imagine they'd give that much away prior to a big announcement. I could be wrong though.

My bet is it's all for show so they're not changing anything.  After all, these people side hugged their own kids.

Catch me up on the Bradrick family? Are they the ones that had a daughter in law wear a yellow wedding dress?

Bradrick! and wife #1 Kelly were the darlings and the couple-of-the-year and marriage of the year  amonst the Vision Forum elite.

Kelly and Bradrick! proceeded to quickly have six children before the perfect marriage imploded and Kelly sued for divorce, based on...nobody knows for sure.  I

n the meantime,  Vision Forum had imploded because Doug Phillips was exposed as a sexual predator;  the Vision Forum gravy train left the station and left Bradrick! high and dry.  The young couple headed to the Pacific Northwest where Bradrick!'s family lives and Bradrick! became a realtor.  There's a classic photo of Kelly pregnant and maybe even barefoot, standing on the deck outside their mobile home on a damp day, surrounded by very young children. She looked so...over it.

Bradrick! stayed in the Pacific Northwest and Kelly and six kids flounced home to daddy Scottie Brown and then she married the current husband.

I always wonder if Kelly is happily remarried or if she just said yes to the first guy who would take on 6 step kids.

I think she unenthusiastically said yes to the first man Scotty Brown (not/never father of the year) convinced/ coerced to take her and the 6 step kids.

I never got a positive vibe from that match.  The guy was a (I think) 30-something never married head master of a Xtian school.

Yeah, I'm sure it was a match made by Scotty Brown and never Kelly's choice.  I wonder if Bradrick! will get the call that Kelly is sending one or more of the kids to live with him.  I hope the kids at least get to visit Bradrick! in the summers.
