Thor has taken a lovah.....

We had a round of cat baths this week, the Little Hooman and I.  I'm determined to keep the fleas at bay!  While this time Thor was slightly more cooperative, he was still pretty p.o.'d when I let him out of the bathroom.  I love when he starts drying and his fur poofs out!  (first pic is post bath)

As mentioned in the title...our sweet innocent kitty muffin has taken himself a comfort companion.  Little Hooman's birthday was back in January, one of her friends got her this really soft stuffed dog.  All was fine until he stole the dog from her bedroom, we assumed he was just playing with it.  Uh yeah.  Not so much. :my_biggrin: :my_sick:

Funny thing to me is....he started stealing the dog just before I had him snippy snipped, I figured it would diminish as time went on. Nope.  Just as amorous after as he was before.  And don't take his puppy!  He doesn't get angry, but he will follow you and it wherever you go!  I managed to catch a G rated pic of him just loving on his puppy.

He's huge ya'll.....he's really really not a jellybean anymore..... :my_cry:

Thor is STILL adorable...even if he isn't just a little jellybean anymore. And...maybe if he has a "real" "friend" he won't be driving the hoomans nearly as bonkers...

@feministxtian I wish his friend would keep him from climbing alllllll over us all the time!  :my_biggrin:  He was IN THE SINK the other morning whilst I was trying to brush my teeth!  We can tolerate pretty much everything except the 6 am serenades.  As soon as my alarm goes off the first time he's in the hallway singing the song of his people and using the beads on Little Hoomans door for cymbals.  I swear he's trying to start up a band and the other cats are just too lazy....He's my sweet opera singing doll baby.

He must be related to my duo. Luke starts his shit about 7am when I go start getting ready for work. He keeps on going until about 8:15 (I leave the house about 7:30). His sister has something to say every time someone sneezes. She is the one who has to watch me get washed up in the morning. Showering is even more interesting...I can't close the bathroom door b/c they'll both body slam the door trying to open it...they jump up on the tub to watch me shower...and they BOTH have things to say about that. Then when I get out of the shower, they both have fits over that and try to dry me off. Ok...so the exfoliation is probably a good thing....but....

Thor's a spoiled little dude....

When we don't have our hooman fur on....they freak out I guess. I mean, they never take their fur off...so they wonder why we take our fur off AND get wet willingly! That must be blowing their little kitty minds.

Thor looks so regal and majestic in the photo in front of the door.

My cats like to drink the bathwater- mmm, people soup. But they're really just waiting for me to get out of the tub and put on my fur- a fuzzy bathrobe- so they can both pile on my lap and snuggle. They're not big cuddlers otherwise, so it's nice.

Thor looks great. Very glossy.

Even though he's been snipped, have you had the birds & the puppies discussion with him?  ;)

I didn't!  My poor angel has gone and found out on his little own...using that poor puppy....I laugh every morning, he's in a new location in the house.

@lawfulevil "people soup"  that's priceless!  They do seem to love the bathwater......

I tell Little Hooman that they must think we're harvesting or stealing their poop when we clean the litter boxes.  The Old Man sits and watches for quality control and then goes and just sits in the clean litter when we're finished.

Luke (aka Big Stoopid) "supervises" daddy cleaning out the litter box, then he goes in, investigates and tinkles.

Who the hell knows what goes thru their minds...

My mother's cats do that sometimes, too. And whenever I go over to visit, you always know when one of them (both are girls)  has left a poo; she'll messes around in the box until she's done, then runs around like a crackhead afterwards. It's quite funny.

I should've said "the birds & the pup-bees", but I'm glad that you knew what I meant.

Likely to honour Isla. So far Jill seems to grieve her publicly, much like Lauren did with her first loss.

I think she may be doing a pregnancy announcement, just from some of the posing, but either way I think the bear is to honor and include Isla. She posts a lot about her. I kinda think that may be why she was less involved with Jana’s wedding, rather than some deeper sibling issue. It was pretty soon after her loss, she was clearly deeply grieving, Jana may have just not wanted to ask her to do a bunch of stuff during that time. I doubt they are super close, but they seem to get along well enough.

It's funny because as a mom of two young kids (6 & 3) I am very much a "time and place" person when it comes kids in public spaces. I think that 100% yes kids have a right to be in public places, and kids in restaurants and planes and places are just a part of life. BUT, I do think there is such a thing as using common sense and I feel like wayyyy too many parents these days feel entitled to bring their kids to places that while it's within their right to do so, it's probably not appropriate.

I do admit though that I am probably slightly biased on the subject because as a wedding & family photographer I see it alllll the time. I'm team no kids at weddings, which is always a hot topic. And for me it really boils down to the fact that weddings are formal events and *most* of the time the kids are a big disruption. And it's not that they're being bad, *they're just being kids*. Unfortunately too many parents just either a) don't pay attention or keep their kids in check, or b) are watching their kids and find nothing wrong with their behavior.

We are relatively strict parents when it comes to behavior, dare I say "old school". We take our kids out to restaurants A LOT, we fly with them regularly, etc. No kids are perfect, and no matter how strict you are every kid has their moments, tantrums, etc. IMO the difference is in how you handle it and doing so in a way that it doesn't disrupt other people. That might not be a popular opinion, but I absolutely feel that while it's my right to take my kids out to dinner, it's also the right of the other patrons to not listen to my kids yell and scream and be annoying.

I really think it depends where you live as to what attitudes people have towards kids. I always felt really insecure about having my kids in public in Southern Ontario (where mega families were common) because people were unbelievably judgy about how they behaved and my parenting in general.

Then we moved to downtown Montreal, where having more than 1 kid was considered a big family, and everyone is just so kind and supportive and encouraging. No one batted an eye at them. I swear that’s why we moved here.

I feel like they're just regular old Fall family portraits...it's that time of year! All my clients are getting on the books for their Christmas card photos now too. At first I thought maybe an announcement based on the bear with pink ribbon, but I actually think it's more possible that is just to honor the loss they had. I can't imagine they'd give that much away prior to a big announcement. I could be wrong though.

My bet is it's all for show so they're not changing anything.  After all, these people side hugged their own kids.
