Picture of the Day ~ 11.02.15

I had a lot of fun with this page.  You can probably tell that at first I tried to keep the animals colored the way they would be in real life.  Somewhere along the way, I threw caution to the wind and just made them whatever color I happened to like, which is actually a bit hard for me.  This one happened to be one of the colored examples in the book it is out of and they had all the animals colored bright, fun colors, so I decided it was "ok" to try.

This was done with a little bit of everything.  Markers, gel pens, sharpies, felt tip pens, just whatever I grabbed out of the marker tub :)

I'm kind of jealous. Your stuff always looks cool. My coloring is all over the place; it looks like I vomited random colors that don't go well together. I can't "match" colors, or my wardrobe, or really anything for that matter lol. Maybe I'll give the color-by-numbers a try but it just doesn't sound as fun.

Glad I'm not the only one! :)

I looked after (didn't babysit, as that's something I reckon you do for non relatives, and which you get paid for, Derick) my 2 yo (nearly 3 yo) and 9 mth old nieces today. The 2 yo wanted to do some drawing, so I got the pad and pencils out for her. She just scribbled - I'm sure my kids were drawing rudimentary people by now - but she did draw a pretty good circle and said it was the sun.  I offered to colour it for her, she agreed, and I did, but I have to admit I haven't the patience for more. Nor the skill, it was a pretty poor effort :(  yours are great though, I love today's one :)

Honestly, there is no WRONG way to color :)    Just do whatever feels right to you and it will be right!

I'm a bit crippled by the desire to keep things "realistic," but I'm trying to get over that.

I'd love to see what other people are coloring.   Please feel free to add your own pictures in the comments here or I could start a group blog and people that want to post their work or other coloring related posts can just let me know and I'll give you access to the blog so it's more of a community project than my personal blog.

I find that I gravitate to certain colors over and over. I do mandalas and knots for the most part.  And typically I manage to work my way through chakra colors.  I just go with it.

I use the same colors a lot, which you will probably start to notice as I post more pages.   I also just have certain pens/pencils that I love more than others so I use those a lot.

You really can't do anything wrong :)

Your 2 year old could draw people?! Dang! My two year old can scribble and that's it. He actually shows no interest in it though so he's only done it a handful of times.

By the  time she was nearly three she was drawing a rough circle with stick arms and legs, and dots for eyes.  I don't think this is indicative of artistic talent though, as at 19 she hasn't progressed much further ;) so don't worry, Clara!

I would say that if Art isn't fundraising, that their basic needs are being met by their income.  Sure they aren't going to go out to dinner or buy lottery tickets but if their basic needs are met, they can work towards other goals without the stress of knowing if they can make rent or pay for utilities.

I know a trans person (male to female). It’s been about a year since they came out. Their birth name is Harry but they go by Hari.  Saw new pictures of them today & they look like a natural female.

some trans or nonbinary people try to pick something similar to their origin name to make the transition for other people easier. so Maddie to Matthew or Bailey to Bryan. considering Artemis real name is Cynthia, they could have gone by Cy, pronounced "sigh" or Cyril, Cyrus, Cyd. Artemis Stardust just seems like art wanted a name they deemed as "cool". but honestly makes them standout in a negative way since people know art did it on purpose and probably wasn't named that at birth. And if Art wants to change their last name why doing they just takes their partners last name. They said a while ago they were engaged and tried to thrift money for a courthouse wedding. with matching tailored tuxedos and custom rainbow rings. Art if your health  and death wishes are so important to you  just go to the courthouse and get married, you dont need to beg hard workin people for money so you can have pride rings and a custom tuxedo, there are suits at the thrift shop and cheap rings anywhere

Crockett seems to have been spending a lot of time with his brother and Hayley in FL. I wonder if seeing them married is giving him the itch to get married, too.
