The Joys of Humidifiers

I've declared it that time of the year.  The time when I drag out a humidifier and fire it up.  I find, based on a decade (or more) of experience that I need one at work more than at home.  The issue however has been to find one that is small and quiet.  At my psychiatrist's office last March (trust me, me on anti-depressants is much better for all involved than me unmedicated).

Air-O-Swiss Small Humidifier

One upside down water bottle.  No filters.  Another - we have  no kitchenette where I work.  So I am limited by the rather small bathroom sinks or water fountain to fill things.  So the water bottle size here is perfect.

Humidifier filters have become the bane of my winter existence.  I've bought humidifiers over the years only to find it danged near impossible (without Amazon) to find the filter in a store the next year.  Yes, from the same store I purchased it at.  And the need to record the filter type or the brand name and model and cart it around with me is frustrating.   So the recent trend to ultrasonic (or whatever they are called) that require no filters makes me very happy.

And don't discuss going with out one during the winter.  I've tried that.  My sinuses are not happy.  They are by nature grumpy and they dry out in the winter and then I get infections.   I don't have time for that.  And I hate being sick.  So moister air it is.

My cats over the years enjoy it too.  I've had one in particular (rest is soul) who liked to sit on a large one I had and more or less huff the moist air as it came out.  Besides, I'm less likely to shock the cat when I go to pet her this way.

I'm looking to purchase a new humidifier this year, and I'm so tempted by the one Vicks sells that doubles as a star projector! Probably doesn't speak to how well it works...but it's so cute ;)

It makes sense that using a humidifier reduces illnesses for you during the dry winter months. Sorry to be graphic, but having soft and wet mucus in your nose improves the odds of it being able to trap bacteria and viruses before they can infect you.

I should have put in there, I dislike the feeling of trying to breathe through shredded wheat.  Which is what my nose feels like if I don't use the humidifier.

I would say that if Art isn't fundraising, that their basic needs are being met by their income.  Sure they aren't going to go out to dinner or buy lottery tickets but if their basic needs are met, they can work towards other goals without the stress of knowing if they can make rent or pay for utilities.

I know a trans person (male to female). It’s been about a year since they came out. Their birth name is Harry but they go by Hari.  Saw new pictures of them today & they look like a natural female.

some trans or nonbinary people try to pick something similar to their origin name to make the transition for other people easier. so Maddie to Matthew or Bailey to Bryan. considering Artemis real name is Cynthia, they could have gone by Cy, pronounced "sigh" or Cyril, Cyrus, Cyd. Artemis Stardust just seems like art wanted a name they deemed as "cool". but honestly makes them standout in a negative way since people know art did it on purpose and probably wasn't named that at birth. And if Art wants to change their last name why doing they just takes their partners last name. They said a while ago they were engaged and tried to thrift money for a courthouse wedding. with matching tailored tuxedos and custom rainbow rings. Art if your health  and death wishes are so important to you  just go to the courthouse and get married, you dont need to beg hard workin people for money so you can have pride rings and a custom tuxedo, there are suits at the thrift shop and cheap rings anywhere

Crockett seems to have been spending a lot of time with his brother and Hayley in FL. I wonder if seeing them married is giving him the itch to get married, too.
