I'm thinking the same thing. It's no more than an hour drive from where I live. I'd like to infiltrate...

Although after the last infiltration, knowing Steve likely reads here, he may be prepared.

I think Steve has checked this thread and if he hasn't he will be reading it soon. He did a remove a Q&A section from the conference in Pittsburgh after reading here.

OMG I live in Fort Wayne.

I know I'm new to all this, but do y'all think I am brave enough to encounter the Maxwells? Dare I?

(Alternatively, who's willing to come with me?)

I may be willing. I'm about 60-90 mins south of Ft. Wayne, depending on where it is in the city. Hmmm. Very tempting.

If they're in the West, I wonder if they'll loop to the North and visit Jon-Marie in Idaho...

My Jewish genderqueer partner said, and I quote, "That's your kink, dear." However she said I'm welcome to stay at her house and drop me off anywhere I'd like to go...

Oh, my. The latest blog - making the green smoothies. :)

AFter seeing that they weigh the apples, I thoughtt, "Man, they really do ration out the bananas, don't they?" and then I realized: It was a photo of yellow earplugs.

Okay, did the "Consider the Lillies" post title put anyone else in mind of the bit from Life of Brian?

No no, I thought that there was no time for a Q & A session at Pittsburgh because of the schedule.

I REPEAT, I believe there was no time for the Q & A session at Pittsburgh because it didn't work out with the schedule.

(To paraphrase our dear Poor Sarah... )

And for fun I thought I would point out Simi Valley is home of the Grace Church tied with Ezzo of the Babywise fame. Also the Reagan Presidental Library, but doubt even Regan is good enough for the Maxwells.

I live nowhere near CA, but combining a Maxwell Conference and a Simi Wine Tour would be brilliant.

Sadly wrong Simi, your thinking up North, this Simi is more about white bread then good vineyards. It became infamous for the Rodney King trial, which was held there, and being just one tiny hill away from the porn capital of the world. We had friends from Simi, we tried to never visit them there, but made them come to us. It is a white burb of boredom, the Maxwells should feel at home, even if it's in liberal California.

Good god, Anna's writing is even worse than Sarah's. No concept of grammatical rules, and tenses all fucked up in typical Maxwell fashion.

Also, the ingredients list - 10 ounces (aprox) frozen spinach - fresh or frozen. Why specify frozen then add the "fresh or frozen" at the end?

And what is Anna drinking from? It looks like a jar. Surely that can't be a comfortable or easy way to drink.

It's a Southern thing (that some of the rest of us adopt). You do have to work a bit more to get the last drop, but otherwise it's the same as drinking out of a regular glass.

I have (Ball) Mason jars for drinking whiskey out of. It's a moonshine thing.

Have they ever gone to New York? I would love to meet up with some Jingers for some interruptive drinking games in the back pew.

Simi Valley's a little far for me, but The Partner's ex lives in Burbank-- I wonder if I could convince her to go. (She'd blend in better. I have a very lesbian-approved haircut, though I have the perfect ankle-length prairie skirt.)

If they came here, I'd go ~ proper clothes or not. Assuming they'd be speaking at a church, nobody is gonna kick anyone out for not being dressed a certain way. They may frown and looks suspicious LOL but nobody would ever actually come up and say "you can't listen to this presentation because you're wearing jeans" ~ the whole point of evangelistic stuff is to get you in there and convert ya ;-)

I wouldn't worry about wearing pants to a Maxwell event. Most of their events tend to take place at a mainstream type churches and I think as long as people show up they are ok with women wearing pants. They probably have a very small niche of fundie lite types who buy some of their products.

In the pictures I've seen, there are always women in pants and jeans at Maxwell events.

I don't think the Maxwells care how other people dress, and they are not even all that interested in "converting" outsiders to their brand of religion. They care about click counts, PayPal numbers, and cash sales. They will take your money whether you are wearing a frumper or a Hail Satan tank top.

I would be so excited to see them in person. They did come to my province a few years ago, but the closest event was at a suburban church out in the middle of nowhere. Around here, you need a car if you want to be a fundie.

I don't think I have anything scheduled for June 8. This could be interesting.
