19KAC was a very popular show in my neck of the woods. Churches in Tiny Town would love to have the Duggars as guest speakers. So, the Duggars aren't exactly nobodies.

And if she's lying, she ran the risk of being outed by Josh's schedule alone. A schedule she probably didn't know anything about.

While I tend to believe there is probably some truth in Danica's story, I don't discount that she may have made up all or part of it. I mean, suppose she got caught in a lie/exaggeration. She just needs to say she made a mistake. It happened a while ago, she has been with many men, she really got confused between this other Joshlike guy and the real Josh.

And though many people have no idea who Josh is, anyone who reads tabloids would have heard of him.

Yep, that's what I suggested (about two days and three pages ago). I just think Josh overlooked one of his, ahem, "conquests". So now Jim Bob can be angry at his golden boy for something else.

The thing that gives me pause about the whole Danica story is just how.... utterly plausible it feels. If she did just make it up out of whole cloth, she actually really managed to get just the right kind of... greasy tone. I think at the very least, you'd have to pay pretty close attention to Josh for a while to be dialed in enough to fabricate a story that rings that true to his (lack of) character. For example, if she'd tried to sell that story about Derrick, it never would have flown, because it sounds so obviously out of character for him from what we have seen of him. (Though god knows we can always be taken by surprise *cough*billcosby*cough*--but with a LOT of corroboration.)

Anyway, the fact that her story seems to be entirely in keeping with Josh's gross lack of character helps sell the story, for me.

This is great sleuthing. Definitely they seem to have sold one to buy the other. What I don't follow is why it would be for Anna. Is the idea that the Duggars are trying to bribe her to stay with Josh by providing a very nice house?

The house that Anna and Josh had bought prior to Joshgate 1.0 wasn't a horrible house. It needed some fixing up but nothing serious at least it didn't look that way. It would have been much cheaper to pay someone to come in and do Anna's house just the way she wanted.

But now Anna and Josh don't own a house. It is owned by Duggar llc. So Anna has to live wherever someone provides her with a roof until Josh returns... Unless she decides to take charge of her life and divorce "the pig." And if she does, she can't claim 1/2 of a house that, fixed up, was supposed to sell for around $200,000 -- she can claim only whatever is left of the $65,000 that Duggar llc seems to have paid for the transfer of Josh and Anna's house.

Call me suspicious (and there may be good reasons why Anna wanted to get rid of that house such as it is too far from everything, or crummy plumbing or she associates it with this painful time) but that sale/property transfer gave JB power and further disempowered Anna.

I see no reason, furthermore why JB would want to provide a nicer house for Anna unless he is trying to bribe her. I mean, when Josh returns, he'd be living in it too. Would JB want to give Josh a nice house with a swimming pool? I am thinking it is more likely to go to Jessa unless JB is trying to bribe Anna.

This is a giant house. And gross- a pool with all those babies and basically a single mom right now? No thanks. Talk about anxiety.

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Maybe he will move jessa up and (if it's true) have jinger/Lawson live in GMM starter house....

Meh. Not to be argumentative as I realize the definition of what constitutes a small, medium, large, giant, or obscenely ginormous house is unique to each person's own perspective, but for most of the south central U.S., this is what would be considered a medium-large or, perhaps, at most, a large house. "Giant" would probably be closer to over 5000 sf. I live in an adjacent state in a nearly 3300-sf place on almost half an acre lot. It's bigger than we need now, but the mortgage+property taxes (approximately $1000USD) is actually cheaper than renting anything in a decent part of town a third that size. Real estate in this region is ridiculously cheap compared to the east and west coasts.

With four children and a large extended family, I would think 3600 sf would be a comfortable size for Anna and the kids. I agree a pool with 4 very young children in the household isn't such a good idea! Not to mention depending on the Duggars to provide the roof over your head, but that's what you get when you equip your children with neither the opportunity to obtain the skills needed to provide for themselves when they're adults or the confidence to leave the cult and forge their own way in life. What is it they say about parents' greatest gift to their children? Something about give them roots, then give them wings? That's very true.

Where did you see county records of this Dowell Street purchase? I didn't have any luck searching for it on my own.

I poked around at arcountydata.com and took screenshots on the Siloam Springs house listing, because I had a hard time finding that shit and I wanted to post it here for posterity and analysis (right click to open bigger in a new tab and remove the h before .png for even bigger):

"Sales History" shows $65k sale from Duggar to ALB Investments on 8/24/15 (2nd pic), but J&A are still listed as the billing address (1st pic). I mosied on over to the AR secretary of state business lookup and found this listing for ALB Investments, run by a Duggar friend Travis Story, which was touched on upthread by another poster. Story is involved with Josh's Fivestone Group as well, according to research done by my old friend DuggarWatch (come back!) here: viewtopic.php?f=87&t=26219&p=972596&hilit=travis+story#p972596

My assessment is that Josh is maybe trying to be a little bit harder to trace, but that the Siloam Springs house still belongs to them. But I don't know anything about real estate or financial practices, so I could be misinterpreting this information. Thoughts?

Hmm. It gets even more interesting. I love looking at houses, so I Google searched for images of the address from the Zillow listing. I found pictures of a similar looking house at a different but nearby address. The address on the original listing is 1935, but this other listing is at 1969. According to Google maps, 1935 is the actual address. The 1969 address is just some random buildings. Based on the images, I think the listing at 1969 is the same as 1935.

Also, mapping the address showed me that it's extremely close to the Duggar compound, as in across the street.
