I honestly don't get it.  "He was trying to prove his innocence" -- from what?  From paying off a porn star?  From conspiring with the National Enquirer?  From paying Cohen for doing the deal?  From cheating on his wife?  Where's the innocence?  All of those things are just facts.  He can try to say he didn't know it was illegal but everybody knows that it was.  We've gone beyond them clutching at straws.  Now they're grasping at lint.

I love me some Johnny Cash now; grew up on Ring of Fire, I Walk The Line, and A Boy Named Sue, and all the rest of his catalog. We never missed his variety show If my dad had had dark hair instead of blond, he and Johnny would have been dead ringers for one another, making me think when I was a kid that maybe we were related to him (not a bit!). But Johnny doesn't need Congress to waste time honoring him; he earned his own honors all by himself.

This Congress--the Republican half, anyway--makes me want to scream uncontrollably in utter frustration.
