Are there characters from series who either seem like you only from another time with a different name and life?  Are there characters who may not be anything like you but you love them dearly and take their stories to heart?

I'll start! Dorcas from Larkrise to Candleford probably stands as my most consistent spirit animal. She's someone who came from fairly humble beginnings and who took her destiny into her own hands.  I love that she has  verbal quirks ("It's my only weakness!") and doesn't notice, which is endearing. She seems to love her community, sometimes acts as a catalyst for better or worse, and doesn't mind speaking up.  She's perfectly imperfect! 

The closest modern analog I can think of is Wanda from Corner Gas.
